Hi Dear Friends!
I’ve spent the last 7 months giving birth to a baby girl, becoming a mama, and making sense of my new existence on the planet. It’s been quite an all-encompassing ride.
From the beginning, she was born right after the Equinox, in the same week Joe Biden became the 46th President of the United States. Making Kamalah Harris the first woman Vice-President. Poet Amanda Gorman reads ‘The Hill We Climb’ while I listen to her heart at the midwife’s office.
The experience of giving birth and becoming a mama was an incredible experience, and something I will explore (probably for the rest of my life) but also in other writings.
What I can say is that now devoting myself to her growth, health and nurturance has been a great source of joy and nourishment for me. I bring all of my learnings, and all that I am still learning back into my classes.
If you would like to try a little taste of my Restorative Vibes class, I will be teaching this Tuesday for my teacher Mona Ananad , Yoga Master and co-owner of ISHTA Yoga, this week on Tuesday 8/17 from 5pm-6pm.
Restorative Yoga is a practice that returns us to our breathing, that allows us to lay down our burdens, and that can allow us to experience our true selves. This class will include a Yoga Nidra that will help inspire us, and bring us to a calm place in our minds and emotions. Can’t wait to see you on Tuesday. Register for this class at ishtayoga.com
The class is a wonderful way to quiet the noise, and return to yourself, feel into your own deep inner experience, and move to a slower place. Often what can be the hardest for us to do is learning to slow down (and to do it regularly), to calibrate our thoughts and feelings to the world around us.
With the emotional strain that has been put on us this last year and a half with the Coronavirus Pandemic, and all the economic, health, and geo-political stress that have been upon us, we all are carrying around undigested experiences, emotional armoring, and imbalances.
And stay tuned because … I’m returning to teach my regular class at ISHTA Yoga Online this fall!
